GENERAL:
In appearance, Jagger comes off as being awkwardly poetic, macabre and unintentionally intimidating. The boy almost quite literally looks like an extract from a Halloween cartoon, and he can easily be the person who others imagine they don’t want to meet in a dark alley. Jagger hates how he looks since it makes him seem more like exactly what he doesn’t like to be, yet in a way it fits him, since as frightening as he can look, he also has the appearance of someone very genuine and desperate to be kind.[/ul]
Standing a towering 6’2, Jagger’s height is what dictates most of his appearance. Some people are tall and is only another of their assets. For Jagger his height makes him, since it’s like all of his body mass is contributed to making him taller. The boy is scrawny, skin and bone with the only thing keeping him from looking anorexic being his muscle mass. Jagger is tall, long and lanky, right down to his long, spider-like fingers. He walks like a much shorter boy trying to work stilts and his long, gawky frame makes him very clumsy and almost makes him appear twice his height as is. If he were to spread out his arms and fingers, Jagger can easily mimic the silhouette of a dead tree, branches like grasping, outstretched claws.
To go along with his strange build, Jagger almost looks the part of the undead. Rather than having pale skin, Jagger has natural lightly tanned skin that is prone to drying out, flaking and cracking, giving him a rougher appearance. His knuckles generally have skin sores from where his dry skin has broken open, his finger tips and where the bone of his wrist protrudes are often calloused, as well as inside of his hand where the reins rub when he’s riding horses. Even his hair follows this dried out looking pattern, being a light sandy blonde color mixing with randomized streaks and dips of red brown. Coupled with the faux hawk he usually puts his hair in or even when it’s left alone and is just left long, it has a rather mangy appearance.
The only part of his appearance that doesn’t make him seem inhuman is face. While yes, it can appear a little gaunt in the cheeks and with his sharp chin, other than that, Jagger’s face is the only part of his appearance that he can unwittingly control. When angry and when he is trying to look intimidating, yes, he can give a dirty look that could make Freddy Krueger piss himself. But other than that, Jagger has a very welcoming, down to earth appearance to his face, from his goofy, lopsided smile that can make people laugh on how it seems too big for his face to his expressive bright green, glow in the dark eyes. Also his voice is something very much in his control and is perhaps the most attractive thing about him. Jagger naturally has a rough, attractive voice and laid on top of it is a thick, endearing southern accent.
, and this is my mind it goes !
over and over the same old lines
At first glance, Jagger seems to be a very quiet, collected and withheld person. He doesn’t like to talk much though readily will if confronted. He has a calming way about him and is just nice to be around since he seems so together even when he’s not. It’s the part of him that appeals to animals most noticeably with horses, obviously, since he doesn’t really have to say or do anything to be calming. He can look very intimidating, and he has a record of not being the best person ever, but the air that he gives off is that he’s seen some and he wouldn’t, or doesn’t want to hurt a fly unless he had to. It’s a very accurate description of him that most anyone could get from just sitting next to him, though can be a bit misleading. Jagger is one to speak through actions and body language more so than flat saying things. Impressive for someone who is not at all touchy feely.
In general, Jagger is a very strong person. Emotionally he can take a hit and act like it didn’t even graze him. It’s an almost unheard of trait in a boy with such an anger problem, but Jagger has perhaps mastered rolling with the punches. He can carry the weight of the world on his shoulders and act like nothing’s bothering him, and he has a streak for standing up for what he believes in. Usually he starts out passive aggressive and if he’s steady enough at the time, can keep it that way, also a misleading characteristic to his underlying violent nature. Because of this Jagger is very independent and despite a fear of being alone, can manage just fine all by his lonesome. He’s one of those people who you think needs a lot of help, but can stand on his own two feet just fine even when the sky is falling around him.
When he was growing up, Jagger had never been much of a selfless person. However in the past few years he has ended up being very giving. He’d do anything for anyone else, all they have to do is ask and Jagger will give his all. Usually he has nothing to give and is more trouble than he’s worth, but he tries desperately, grasping and clasping at any reason to try and make up for all the wrong he’s done. It can lead him into a lot of trouble though, since in that respect it also makes Jagger very easy to manipulate, since literally anyone can ask anything of him. Proven by his track record, it’s most often people on the wrong side of the street who aren’t spooked by his intimidating appearance and demeanor who are reaping the benefits of Jagger’s willingness. It also has made Jagger very confused about right, wrong, and the line between them, a very sad place to be at his age.
Though Jagger is a very torn person, he still has enough to put his problems aside and act stupid. In fact he prefers to, since then he can pretend he’s not the worst person alive, and people won’t get the impression that he’s as troubled as he is. The last thing Jagger wants is pity, and by letting himself have fun and act like an idiot he puts off that air easily. Jagger is always ready and willing to take a dare and he’s the stupid kid who thinks his getting hurt is funny. Really it is not uncommon to see Jagger jumping off things, hanging out the side of a car or trying to climb something clearly not meant to be climbed on. It’s almost questionable if the boy even feels pain, since one too many times he’s sat up, clutching a broken arm and laughing his ass off. Definitely not good that he’s not a big fan of hospitals.
Whether it be friends or acquaintances, Jagger will stand up in the defense of most anyone who is friendly with him. He’s prone to getting into fights for friends, both verbal and physical (though any physical fight he gets into is often after being provoked and he is nothing short of dangerous during), if he feels they need the assistance. He’d never double cross a friend unless he thought it was for their own good, he’d never spread a rumor and do anything to stop a false one that he hears. In the same respect, Jagger can be very forgiving, though not initially. As Jagger is always willing to forgive someone, the person who made him angry in the first place has to prove they are also willing for Jagger to even consider it, leading to complications.
Kind and selfless as Jagger can be, there’s a reason for a good 50% of his personality. Jagger has an anger problem, a severe one, to the point where if someone makes him mad they need to be stronger than him or in the vicinity of people who can pull him away to make it out without any broken bones or lost teeth. As soon as he sees red, it’s like he’s not home anymore and wants nothing more than to hurt anyone and anything near him. It isn’t a passing thing, it isn’t a random surge of pent up anger, it’s a trait Jagger actively tries to push under. Hard as he tries though, Jagger’s anger drives most everything he does. It’s not something that can be covered with drugs, it’s a burning, rampant sensation that is the foundation of who he is. Jagger can be and is a very dangerous person since depending on his mood, it can sometimes be very easy to get him just mad enough.
Jagger never wants to hurt anyone, it kills him inside when he realizes he did. He’s been a little abrasive sometimes, mostly in the past, but he never means to hurt anyone. Yet he does it all the time, both emotionally and physically. It drives him crazy, almost literally, to know that he’s not only very capable of it, but almost scarily good at it. He doesn’t know how much he’s worn out the phrases ‘I didn’t mean to’, ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘I don’t want to hurt anyone’, yet as far as he’s concerned, they don’t mean much coming from him. He’s scared of himself and confused as to who he’s supposed to be if he’s such a monster even though he doesn’t want to be.

Thomas Arlington – Brother(Deceased)
OTHER:
HISTORY:
[/ul]
On August 15th, Jagger was born the second son to Harvey and Louise Arlington, in a hospital in Atlanta Georgia. Harvey was a well to do musician who though not famous or noted for his music, was featured in the instrumentals of many movie soundtracks and in the background of popular singers. Louise was the daughter of the well known(in equestrian circles) Arabian horse training family the Davises, and was owner of her own working ranch training Arabian show horses. It was on that ranch in a small town of Georgia that Jagger, his parents and brother lived. His brother Thomas, older than him by four years, was the perfect son. He could ride horses, he could play music, he was great at sports, he was nice to everyone, better looking, everything. Ever since the day he was born Jagger idolized his older brother, desperately tried to be like him though it was in that attempt that Jagger came crashing down.
There was one thing that Jagger was good at, and that was riding horses. When he was younger he’d been a very abrasive child, the first one to kick someone in the shin or push down other kids. However, not quite as much as his ability presently, yet still noticeably the boy had a calming affect on animals and seemed to bond with them well. Apparently they calmed him down to, since probably the only time Jagger wasn’t a handful and hard to manage was when he was around animals. Possibly the only thing Jagger would ever be better than his brother at was riding horses, though it was almost unfair to say so. As they grew older, Thomas was far too busy to help his mother with the horses, show and train and all that, he was striving for valedictorian in his graduating year of high school, captain of the field hockey team, tutoring lower classman. Thomas could only have been more perfect if he’d cured cancer and solved world hunger while he was at it.
Meanwhile, however, Jagger showed his mother’s horses, rode and his list of good traits ended there. He’s good at riding horses and working with them, always had been, but it wasn’t his passion, it wasn’t what he loved. Some of the things that had to be done to make a show horse into a show horse he didn’t agree with and didn’t want to do. His real passion lied in music, he loved rock concerts, he loved to sit and watch his dad in his recording studio. He learned how to produce sitting on the other side of the glass in the studio in their basement while his father played, but even more importantly, he learned how to play. Of course, Thomas was just naturally better than him and Jagger was slow to learn Yet he tried harder than anyone could. If it weren’t for the sound proofed studio, Jagger would have kept his family up at all hours of night, trying to play every instrument in the studio, and there was quite the vast array. Mostly Jagger became most acquainted and most in love with the piano and guitar.
It wasn’t quite his love for music that drove him down, but his mother likes to think that his taste in music was a big cause. More so it was his desperation to be as good as his perfect older brother, but when he got into the seventh grade, already it was too much. He wasn’t as smart as his brother, he learned at a slower pace, having a tall lanky build that he never lost but could never quite become graceful with, Jagger failed at sports. He couldn’t do anything Thomas could do, and when the pressure became too much, Jagger was breaking down at a slow rate. It started with fist fights, sitting in the principals office with a bloody nose and ready to go another round with anyone who dared get in his face. Then it dropped into alcohol, having his first beer at thirteen. Then cigarettes at fourteen, weed at fifteen, everything toppling over onto itself. His parents did their best for him, they just thought it was a phase, tried to support him, tried to show him they loved him just as much, that they were proud of him for trying so hard. Jagger was blinded by his own ignorance and anger.
When Jagger was a junior at 17 is when things got really bad. Weed wasn’t doing it anymore, waking up with a hangover on someone’s front lawn wasn’t going to cut it. From the first time he injected heroin, everything slid on a downward slope. While he was high, life was fucking great, Jagger was insane in a good way, fun to be around, silly and funny, nice to be around. When he wasn’t high, Jagger was getting into fights more than usual, he was scrambling, doing anything to try and get his next fix. It ended with him in the wrong crowd, helping to steal cars, break into stores, steal from people, it’d even gone so far that Jagger’d held a gun to a gas station cashier. He went like this for a few months, desperate, needy, the only thing that kept him from getting caught was Thomas. Thomas, the perfect son, perfect brother, Jagger’s best friend, did everything he could to try and keep their parents from finding out to try and make Jagger stop. He was only being a good brother.
The worst night of his life came when drunk and high, Jagger came stumbling home at one in the morning. Thomas was there waiting for him like he did most nights so he could cover for Jagger who would otherwise foolishly wake up their parents. Thomas got to talking to Jagger on how he shouldn’t be doing all these things, should stop, should clean himself up and straighten shit out. It got pretty heated, and like he always does, Jagger snapped. The fight ended with a Jagger getting a bloody nose, a few bruises and a fractured wrist. Thomas, however, had his nose broken, his left jaw snapped into almost two clean halves, a broken collar bone and most impacting, a broken rib that had ruptured his spleen. Jagger would have killed him if his father hadn’t wrestled him away in time, and Thomas nearly died from the ruptured spleen. Jagger was lucky as hell that Thomas was able to make a full, unhindered recovery from it, but that night was the last time he ever spoke to his brother.
When Jagger took full realization of what he did, he ran. The police found him a week later, passed out on a park bench. It was never reported that Jagger was the cause of what happened to Thomas, his family just said it was an accident with the horses, but he was taken to jail and sent to rehab for substance abuse and underage drinking. When he was let out after three months, he didn’t go home. His parents sent him to live in Kentucky with his aunt and uncle, his mother’s brothers. Mostly they just needed to put distance between Thomas and Jagger, and they figured he’d like Kentucky. No one to judge him like at the small high school he went to in Georgia, no one who knew about him and the things he’s done. Louise’s brother trained Arabians just like she did, so they thought it would do him some good, it would change him. Sitting on the plane by himself, Jagger knew it was too late. As soon as his feet hit the Kentucky pavement, Jagger was thinking about his next fix rather than the fact that he was supposed to focus on repeating his junior year.
It wasn’t long until Jagger flat gave up. He dropped out of school when he was 18 and left his aunt and uncle’s house. He was homeless for a long time though ended up getting a job in a music store and living in the store’s attic due to the good nature of the man who’d owned it, Jamison Dale, a musician who had retired from his career to selling vinyl records and guitars. However Jagger kept shooting the heroin and spending all his money on it, and it got to be too much. Jamison was forced to send Jagger to rehab once again, and it nearly drove the boy insane. Though this time he was allowed to work with horses once he was done throwing up, screaming from pain and trying to beat up doctors (succeeding in breaking quite a few noses, too). It was good for him since he liked horses; animals in general calmed him down. Unfortunately people are what drove him to drugs and his less than saintly lifestyle, and they were hard to get away from. Having spent a few months in rehab breaking horses, Jagger was finally released. He bought up one of the horses he’d been training; the now twenty year old Jagger knew it wouldn’t be long until he was back to his old ways, no matter how hard he tried. Once out of rehab he heard the news that his older brother had passed away in a car accident, and this sent Jagger into a whole new vertical spin. Out of mercy for the boy’s situation and because he knew the Arlington family personally, Headmaster Blackmore gave Jagger a job as a trainer at Elmendorf Academy where he has been ever since.
