Materson Station Park was absolutely lovely. However, is all honestly she never thought she would end up here today with a folder, book, and her I-pod on hand. The summer weather made it hard to deal with wearing jeans- even light colored jeans! Wearing long pants -in this case jeans was a must- though since she was afraid that when or if she sat on the ground, which was highly likely, that her legs would get irritated by the grass. Her shoes were a simple pair of black ridding boots since she couldn’t really find her other shoes this morning. Her t-shirt on the other hand was a light purple cotton shirt that fitted her form nicely. Absolutely no hoodie was needed on this summer day, but she brought one anyway that was currently knotted around her waist. She would more so use it as a blanket to sit on and being black, if it got stained, you wouldn’t be able to tell.
Sighing in relief at the sight of a tree providing shade, Jennifer made her way over. Once in the cooler shade, she took the small backpack she carried on her left shoulder and dropped it down near the trunk. In that dark purple and black checkered backpack was her folder filled with music, a book which she had to read at home, and her video I-pod nano, a simple blue in color. Her hands undid the knot of the sleeves on her hoodie and placed it on the ground by the trunk. Once that was accomplished, she sat down with her back leaning against the tree and hair in a loose bun. A quick puff of air sent the bangs framing her face back to their respective sides and not obscuring her vision. Looking toward her pack, she took it and placed it into her lap to unzip it and pull out her I-pod and music folder. The book for independent reading at home was titled To Kill a Mockingbird and currently laying at the bottom of her pack abandoned. Just maybe she would start reading it again a little later.
Zipping her pack back up, she placed it next to her so it was leaning against the trunk. She placed the folder in her lap and put in the ear phones for her nano in her ears. Once she had taken it off hold and turned it on, she selected songs and played it on random. She skipped the first song and Pavane pour une infante défunte began playing. She chuckled slightly; shaking her head and grabbing the sheet music out of her folder and took out the same peace, but picked out the sheets for the second violins. It was quite ironic how she was currently learning this piece and it just happened to play on her nano. She caught up to the second measure and from there began counting and imagining that she was playing it on her violin. Eventually, she played the song again, this time taking out the sheet she had for the piano. Then to her delight, she took out the Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, second movement for first violin as the song began playing on her I-pod. It just had to be one of her favorite things to play. Pretty soon she began humming along; glad that those couple years of choir had paid off. On the higher pitches, she switched to the harmony and pack again. Her eyes were focused on the music and slightly oblivious to the things around her.
